Irish Steph - Da Viol (Daft Punk vs Gesaffelstein)

Playlisted right after he started out by some of the biggest names in electronic music such as SebastiAn, Kavinsky, and the Bloody Beetroots ; it did not take him long time to be seen as part of the new French Electronic Generation. The French student's confusing name comes from his Irish roots, to which he has always stayed true. Irish Steph spent 15 years of his life learning how to play piano, violin, bass and drums and finally devoted himself to making music with a computer.
The young man surprised the public with a mature sound which finds its roots in funk, rock, and classical but also in traditional Irish music. Two EP releases followed on French record label Paranoiak : 'Power' in September 2010 and 'Crush' the following year, which had been playlisted by BBC Radio 1 (Kissy Sell Out and Nick Grimshaw), Le Mouv' (Laura Leishman Project), and FG Dj Radio (French Government).
Following a run of concerts throughout France with acts including Etienne de Crecy, Birdy Nam Nam, Fukkk Offf and many others, Irish Steph is now back reworking Da Funk!

Thomas Bangalter - Colossus (The Phantom's Revenge Rmx)

The Phantom's Revenge has a gift for us today! Is seen that he have reached some good numbers of followers on Twitter, Facebook and SoundCloud and their way of being grateful is with an incredible free remix!
A curious thing is that in fact The Phantom's Revenge has not changed the song but the original where Bangalter took "Colossus". Any way, enjoy!

Daft Punk Fourth Album

Guy Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter are already working on what will be the fourth studio album by French duo, though, as usual, neither has confirmed. It was one of his associates, Nile Rodgers, who has predicted it will be a record "amazing."

The release of the soundtrack for Tron: Legacy in late 2010 left a bad taste in mouth to fans of Daft Punk was a soundtrack to use and not one of the usual electronic work group. So, now over six years since the last studio album the duo (Human After All, 2005) and his followers have been waiting for a new job, which is rumored to inquire into the shed more R & B of Daft Punk

The latest news about coming to confirm these rumors, because the musician Nile Rodgers has confirmed that it is working at his home in New York with Homem-Christo and Bangalter in something that could be a new album of duets.
Rodgers is a legend of disco, R & B and funk. In the late 70's he formed the band Chic, which maintained its success even in the 80 and as a producer and songwriter has been involved in iconic albums like David Bowie Lets Dance or Madonna Like a Virgin. "These kids are great, come to my apartment on Monday and let's talk about making a new album together," explained Rodgers Culture Map Houston, in a statement that other media were quick to confirm.

Naturally, in the interview they asked the man to go deeper. “It’s funny I’ve known Daft Punk for some time now but we were never really close – we never got a chance to hang out with each other, we would just meet in passing,” he happily continued. “So today was the first chance we had to spend hours and hours together and it was just so awesome. Every track they played I just ran across the room and got my guitar and started playing and we were all dancing around my dining room having the time of our lives. It was something that was meant to be. It was interesting how Thomas said to me: ‘It’s funny Nile, it’s like we’ve completed the circle’. We’ve always just met, just had a moment to talk and then finally today we just said, this is something that has to happen.

“The best projects I’ve ever been involved in have always been like that: we vibe on an artistic level first – same thing happened with me and Bowie. Like Bowie, they can speak in abstract terms and I know exactly what they’re talking about. So it was funny, at one point I said, ‘You’ve been talking for two hours and you haven’t actually said exactly what you’re talking about, but I know what you mean.’ It’s all the nuances of music and who a person is as an artist, concepts, where that concept is now in the arch of life – all of that type of stuff, which is what I really understand.”

Thus, Consequence of Sound again asked the musician on the matter soon after. "We're just playing at home, but it will be serious and real. Came the other day at breakfast and it was at night, so I basically had to put out into the street," he said."We're having fun in an informal work we decided to make formal. It is VERY formal. Going to be amazing," says Rodgers, who only makes it clear that's going great moments with the French.

But Neil isn't the only contributor to the disk, since in recent months the name Daft Punk has been linked with composer Paul Williams, the experimental musician Panda Bear (Animal Collective) and the Canadian musician Chilly Gonzales.

Daft Punk Tribute

Daft Punk, our favorite band, is a band that's always good to remember at Christmas and what better way than with a tribute minimix!

And speaking of Daft Punk, I guess that they are bringing to something, maybe a Christmas surprise, who knows? These are just guesses based on the wallpaper change of their official website... we will be attentive anyway!

Daft Punk - Drive

Hey listen the last track from Daft Punk!
well... it isn't the last track, actualy is an Unreleased track of 1994

Here's the history [... aaaaahhh soo boooriiing!]:

Soma Records – 20 Years [SOMA CD095] Triple CD release
Release date: 19/09/2011
Disc 1 – Soma Classics
Disc 2 – Slam DJ Mix
Disc 3 – Silicone Soul DJ Mix
When Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle decided to name their fledgling imprint Soma Quality Recordings, they were being more uncannily prescient than anyone could have imagined during the heady, post-acid electronic eruption, whose volcanic ash continues to disrupt services and belch up astonishing new talent on a regular basis through to the present day. Through sheer natural instinct and passion, the word ’Quality’ has remained Soma‘s essential mantra, resulting in many of these names gravitating to the label over the last 20 years.
Soma was born out of the insanely euphoric celebrations taking place at the DJ duo’s club held in Glasgow since a track by Phuture named them and their night Slam. Along with manager Dave Clarke and fellow founder Glenn Gibbons (both still at the helm), they had little idea that, out of the countless clubs and labels flourishing during that magical period, they would be the one still holding strong two decades later, Soma now acknowledged as the UK’s longest-running dance label and one of the most consistently- dazzling electronic imprints in the world.
Relentlessly DJing at the world’s foremost cutting edge dance venues, Orde and Stuart have kept their fingers on electronic music’s rapidly-evolving pulse, experiencing on the front line what makes crowds scream, dance or cry, constantly pushing the boat out with their work as Slam, while carefully planning and introducing fresh new names to the mothership label.

Above all, they have never forgotten that intoxicating magic, which spawns the strongest memories while changing outlooks, careers and even lives forever. So many of those cavorting on their Glasgow dance floors over the past two decades have gone off to start making their own music; a direct lineage from the punk movement which gripped the Slam boys earlier in life (and which they readily acknowledge with the occasional post- club Clash session), along with other key historic elements, from acid house to New York boogie to Detroit’s symphonies to Berlin minimal stalkers and beyond.

There have been epoch-making discoveries and landmarks, such as wide-eyed greenhorns Daft Punk, who released their first three EPs with the label before leaving to take over the world, intoxicating one-offs like Scott Grooves’ ‘Mothership Reconnection’ and fabled roster mainstays, which saw Lars Sandberg, aka Funk D’Void, score major success with ‘Diabla’ along with the ever-astonishing Silicone Soul scoring with ‘Right On‘. As an unashamed trainspotter, I have and have listed every vinyl release from SOMA001 (a shared 12-inch between Slam and Rejuvination) up until around SOMA250 and the digital revolution; too many to mention but many which will be represented, often re- upholstered, in the anniversary celebrations culminating in this marvellous collection. Of course it helps also having memories of Slam bringing the Arches to its delirious knees in the mid-90s with ‘Positive Education’, or the day I heard The Black Dog had started cocking its leg against the label’s fence, but Soma now stands as both electronic institution and unquenchable spirit, well-entitled to enjoy the biggest party yet as it hits its 20th year. That Slam and their mighty label now stand tall in the same hall of fame as their original inspirations speaks for itself. That they are still firing on all cylinders is even better. As I said recently while reviewing volume five of the highly successful Soma Coma series (I’ve written about Soma more than any other label in the last 35 years); even when trawling the past, this towering label can’t help thinking about the future.

Madeon - Pop Culture (live mashup)

We already knew that Madeon has a great talent, was amply demonstrated after his remix of  Que Veux Tu
