Skrillex & Wolfgang Gartner – The Devils Den (unofficial video)

I know that for some dubstep fans (or people who appreciate intact eardrums and variance in music’s amplitude) talk about Skrillex as a dubstep producer might be considered blasphemy because his style is the “bro-step”. He is a great producer anyway call it what you want, and with the music, like with everything, if you don't like something don't look/listen/lick/eat/or whatever you're going to do with it. This time Spy Films director Arev Manoukian shoots his latest film featuring electronic music artist Skrillex & Wolfgang Gartner . This film is the hauntingly dark journey of a newly married man trapped in a deep erotic dream. The dream quickly turns into a nightmare as he spirals down into The Devil’s Den. Check out!!

Miike Snow - Paddling Out and Remixes

Miike Snow is – are – in a playful mood. The second, somewhat orchatronic, album by the three-headed-band with the one-man-name and mysterious Jackalope symbol is called Happy To You.

The Swedish electronic band just released the official video for "Paddling Out", the first single from his new album 'Happy To You', which goes on sale next March 27th.
From this second album was already known 'Devil's Work', a song that despite having been published last year, the trio did not consider a promotional single

Happy To You and happy to be here: Miike Snow are back with a big, bold, bright, colourful album bristling with tunes and (break)beats and ideas and more tunes – yes, that is an orchestra, and fo’ sure, that is a marching band – and it’s not so long since they were last here.

The rest of the djs are already working on remixes for this massive album. The best till now come from Jacques Lu Cont and Wolfgang Gartner, who presented it in Pete Tong's show on Radio 1.

Wolfgang Gartner - Weekend In America (Bonus Track Version)

A now a few words from W.G. about "Weekend in America"

“One of my mantras is that I have a responsibility to advance the genre. If I’m capable of doing something I’ve never done before, I feel like I have to use that ability, because there are not many people who do - or can. I have to push myself real real hard to do it. That’s something that’s really surfaced with this record,” he admits. Gartner’s work ethic is mythical amongst even his most storied contemporaries: Make music all week. Play it out all weekend. His DJ sets - and this speaks to a combination of prolificness, personal taste and a proven track record - are almost entirely made up of edits of his own work. Then again, when you spend 20 hours a day working on music..

“Rap music is actually all I listen to when I can just listen to music, like in my car. I spend so much time listening to dance music, rap is something I can just enjoy,” Wolfgang Gartner explains. “I’m not trying to do all these collaborations with rappers to be trendy,” he adds. “I reached out to each of them to make sure they were down and understood where I was coming from. I honestly like hip-hop almost as much as I like dance music, so it’s a perfect combination.”

For Wolfgang Gartner, the introverted empath spending thousands of hours in isolation making these tracks that will connect him to tens, even hundreds of thousands of people at a time, Weekend In America is party-rocking speaker-freq’-ing as self-realization. “I can imagine it and I know something amazing that’s never been heard before is possible. Occasionally it’s even something I can already hear in my head and that’s why I have to make this music.”
