Let me introduce you to 'Exphere'
1:19 PM
noisebusters
Wellcome back to another edition of 'Let me introduce you to'. Today we have with us a special guest: Exphere, who is starting to get recognised as one of the hottest acts to emerge from the Brazilian house scene in recent times.
Noizebusters- Hello Exphere, first of all can you say us your real name and where do u come from?
Exphere- Hi my name is Alysson Drumond and i'm from Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
NB- Where does the name Exphere come from?
E- When I had just started producing Electro House I signed my tracks with the alias "Electrosphere", the concept idea behind this name was of a new atmospheric layer blended with the word Electro which is my main genre on Exphere.
However, after doing some research, it caught my attention that some dude already used this name before so I decided to change it.
The thing is that some friends, DJs and producers already knew me by that name so I tried to create an unique name that would be similar to that one and that's when I came up with "Exphere".
NB-So could you tell us a little bit about the origins of it? Why did u decided start with this project?
E-I started listening to electronic music from an early age with Daft Punk, Scooter, The Prodigy and it got me very interested on how could they make those sounds out of computers. So I did some research on softwares, plugins, synthesizers and all this stuff as a hobby and a couple of years ago I decided to take it seriously and to try and make my own music. I am also a musician so it really helps with the electronic music production.
NB- who music or artists have influenced you?
E-I've listened to a lot of rock, heavy metal and jazz also from an early age, so it all influences my music. When it comes to electronic music I'm a big fan of Pendulum, Daft Punk, Deadmau5 and many many others.
NB-Have you done any collaborations? With other artists I mean.
E-I have done some collabs with other artists like on "Pump This Party" with E-Cologyk. There's also an awesome collaboration coming out soon with Canadian singer Tonye Aganaba.
NB- And do u have plans in the future?
E-My main future goal is to make an album and to tour around the world.
NB-To finish could u tell us a little bit more about your last track 'Pump This Party' ?
E- Pump This Party is a track I'm very excited about. We've received some great feedback and a lot of support from big artists in the scene. Thanks to Exphere for his time, we hope to hear from you soon! Till then here there are some of their last works...

Noisia with mau5trap! Tommy's Theme!
10:10 PM
noisebusters
Yeah you are reading right, Noisia are teaming up with mau5trap. It is not very probably but just in case you haven't heared about it...Mau5trap is deadmau5’s own label and has been the home to some of the biggest electronic music released in the last three years (mau5trap beatport).
The definition from Noisia to this track is "morphing many-headed dubstep beast that reinforces their revered reputation at the forefront of electronic music. Opening with a cinematic landscape built from lush strings, soft choral voices and stumbling rhythmic rubble, the song is swept up in orchestral grandeur before being turned on its head. As the drums thunder home, deadly bass swipes swing through the track destroying everything in their path and elastic synths mutate through the ever-shifting sonic minefield"
Last time these giants worked together was when Noisia remixed ‘Raise Your Weapon’. And for this track Noisia and mau5trap are so excited that they have even a website for it. Noisia - Tommy's Theme by NOISIA ‘Tommy’s Theme’ will be realesed on 24th October 2011

F.O.O.L - The Freak (You Killing Me Remix)
4:45 PM
noisebusters
These two sacred fathers inspired by music bring us their last remix 'The Freak' (F.O.O.L original track).
They always have tried to connect to people with their music to portray kindness & love, and this time they have definatelly done it. And if you think that You Killing Me's music is aggressive, that's not what they try to do... they just utilize and expel their excess negative energy through thrashing about during dance.
These two musical saviors changed all aspects of their life and dedicate all their time to their musical project in hope to change the world's selfish mentality.
And after this last remix we just can say that OUR PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED!!

Wolfgang Gartner - Weekend In America (Bonus Track Version)
A now a few words from W.G. about "Weekend in America"
“One of my mantras is that I have a responsibility to advance the genre. If I’m capable of doing something I’ve never done before, I feel like I have to use that ability, because there are not many people who do - or can. I have to push myself real real hard to do it. That’s something that’s really surfaced with this record,” he admits. Gartner’s work ethic is mythical amongst even his most storied contemporaries: Make music all week. Play it out all weekend. His DJ sets - and this speaks to a combination of prolificness, personal taste and a proven track record - are almost entirely made up of edits of his own work. Then again, when you spend 20 hours a day working on music..
“Rap music is actually all I listen to when I can just listen to music, like in my car. I spend so much time listening to dance music, rap is something I can just enjoy,” Wolfgang Gartner explains. “I’m not trying to do all these collaborations with rappers to be trendy,” he adds. “I reached out to each of them to make sure they were down and understood where I was coming from. I honestly like hip-hop almost as much as I like dance music, so it’s a perfect combination.”
For Wolfgang Gartner, the introverted empath spending thousands of hours in isolation making these tracks that will connect him to tens, even hundreds of thousands of people at a time, Weekend In America is party-rocking speaker-freq’-ing as self-realization. “I can imagine it and I know something amazing that’s never been heard before is possible. Occasionally it’s even something I can already hear in my head and that’s why I have to make this music.”

Soma Records – 20 Years [SOMA CD095] Triple CD release

When Stuart McMillan and Orde Meikle decided to name their fledgling imprint Soma Quality Recordings, they were being more uncannily prescient than anyone could have imagined during the heady, post-acid electronic eruption, whose volcanic ash continues to disrupt services and belch up astonishing new talent on a regular basis through to the present day. Through sheer natural instinct and passion, the word ’Quality’ has remained Soma‘s essential mantra, resulting in many of these names gravitating to the label over the last 20 years.
Soma was born out of the insanely euphoric celebrations taking place at the DJ duo’s club held in Glasgow since a track by Phuture named them and their night Slam. Along with manager Dave Clarke and fellow founder Glenn Gibbons (both still at the helm), they had little idea that, out of the countless clubs and labels flourishing during that magical period, they would be the one still holding strong two decades later, Soma now acknowledged as the UK’s longest-running dance label and one of the most consistently- dazzling electronic imprints in the world.
Relentlessly DJing at the world’s foremost cutting edge dance venues, Orde and Stuart have kept their fingers on electronic music’s rapidly-evolving pulse, experiencing on the front line what makes crowds scream, dance or cry, constantly pushing the boat out with their work as Slam, while carefully planning and introducing fresh new names to the mothership label.
Above all, they have never forgotten that intoxicating magic, which spawns the strongest memories while changing outlooks, careers and even lives forever. So many of those cavorting on their Glasgow dance floors over the past two decades have gone off to start making their own music; a direct lineage from the punk movement which gripped the Slam boys earlier in life (and which they readily acknowledge with the occasional post- club Clash session), along with other key historic elements, from acid house to New York boogie to Detroit’s symphonies to Berlin minimal stalkers and beyond.
There have been epoch-making discoveries and landmarks, such as wide-eyed greenhorns Daft Punk, who released their first three EPs with the label before leaving to take over the world, intoxicating one-offs like Scott Grooves’ ‘Mothership Reconnection’ and fabled roster mainstays, which saw Lars Sandberg, aka Funk D’Void, score major success with ‘Diabla’ along with the ever-astonishing Silicone Soul scoring with ‘Right On‘. As an unashamed trainspotter, I have and have listed every vinyl release from SOMA001 (a shared 12-inch between Slam and Rejuvination) up until around SOMA250 and the digital revolution; too many to mention but many which will be represented, often re- upholstered, in the anniversary celebrations culminating in this marvellous collection. Of course it helps also having memories of Slam bringing the Arches to its delirious knees in the mid-90s with ‘Positive Education’, or the day I heard The Black Dog had started cocking its leg against the label’s fence, but Soma now stands as both electronic institution and unquenchable spirit, well-entitled to enjoy the biggest party yet as it hits its 20th year. That Slam and their mighty label now stand tall in the same hall of fame as their original inspirations speaks for itself. That they are still firing on all cylinders is even better. As I said recently while reviewing volume five of the highly successful Soma Coma series (I’ve written about Soma more than any other label in the last 35 years); even when trawling the past, this towering label can’t help thinking about the future.
